What is Trauma

Each of us has a window of tolerance for stress. Events that are beyond our window of tolerance activate our nervous system’s flight or fight mode and we enter a state of “distress”.

Sometimes if the event is particularly traumatic or endured for a long period of time, our nervous system will get stuck in flight or fight mode. This can lead to PTSD. Holistic healing practices can bring back balance to our nervous system and help to alleviate many of the symptoms
of trauma.

Holistic healing services help to access the mind/body through practices such as massage, yoga, reflexology, animal and garden therapy, acupuncture, and somatic mentoring/coaching.

These practices help the body begin to trust and feel safe so that it can begin to recognize and release trauma and begin the healing process.
